4. Listings and Job Applications

a) Please read our Privacy Statement carefully prior to disclosing any personal data. Please note that upon forwarding your personal information to a third party, we are not responsible for the use of the data by such third parties. If you are not offered SSL encryption for electronic transmittal of your personal data to a potential employer, you should contemplate sending your application off line.

Please note that a job listing could be published by a company or individual that might use your personal data for purposes other than that intended. We cannot control this. You should therefore check the identity of any third party to whom you send your personal data. For example, you should never send personal data to a private email address. We advise you not to supply a recruiter with certain sensitive data, even if they request this. Such sensitive data would include (but is not limited to) your personal ID number, social security number, credit card number and banking details.

5. Links to other Web Sites

a) If you follow an external link and thereby leave our site, the content of such other web site is beyond our control and influence. We do not accept liability for this unless we had actual knowledge of the illegal content. In such cases we will disable the link after investigation.

  • Information on pregnancy
  • Any information about ethnic origin, political opinion, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, health and sexual orientation
  • Defamatory or slanderous information
  • Information having no reasonable relation to the job profile

b) The information you send us must be accurate and must not infringe the rights of third parties, contravene official regulations or breach public policy ("Illegal Content"), this includes but is not limited thereto that you may not create CVs for third persons without their explicit consent or create CVs for non-existent persons and that photos provided to us must be up to date and display the face of the actual candidate. We point out that you are responsible for keeping your contact details, particularly your e-mail address up to date and ensuring that you can be contacted at the email address provided and that the email address is not transferred to third persons. Please note that you shall undertake to indemnify us against all claims made against us as a consequence of your violation of this clause 6 b and failure to prevent Illegal Content appearing in any information you provide.

7. Registration for StepStone Services

To use certain StepStone services it is necessary to register for the Personalized User Space.

a) Fundamental Features of the Personalized User Space.The Personalized User Space is a free of charge service for your job search. For details of the data protection aspects please refer to our Privacy Statement.

b) How is the contract for the use of the Personalized User Space concluded?

A contract between you and StepStone France SAS is concluded in the following way: You enter your login data on our CV creation site or on our general registration site . Then you accept the declaration of consent on the CV creation or registration site. Then you check that all your data entries are correct and click on "Save". Now, we have entered into a contract for using the Personalized User Space that can be cancelled at any time by one of the parties. You are now a registered user and can enter your data into the CV database or start using other StepStone services.

c) Is the wording accessible and  stored at StepStone France SAS after concluding the contract and can I access it?
Your contract with StepStone France SAS consists of the following elements:         ·Declaration of Consent on the "CV creation" or "registration" site        
·Terms of Use        
·StepStone Privacy StatementYou can view, store or print all elements at any time by pressing ctrl-s and/or ctrl-p.

d) How much does the Personalized User Space cost?

The services for job seekers found at the Personalized User Space" are free of charge.

e) Your right of cancellation

You can deactivate or delete your CV at any time (if you decide to only deactivate your CV it will not be accessible to potential employers, but you can use it, e.g. to attach it to online applications). If you need help in doing so - please contact us!

f) How can I identify errors and correct them before sending my registration?

If you forget to complete one of the boxes during the registration process, we will not be able to carry out the service for you. Therefore you will be automatically informed if you have not filled in all required fields. You will also be notified if you have entered two different passwords instead of repeating one password, or if the password your have entered is too short. The same applies to your email address or if you have entered it without the @ or if it does not have a logical structure. If you have entered a wrong email address, you will see this as you will not receive our automated electronic confirmation of your registration (email). Furthermore, we will notify you if the user name you have chosen is too short or has already been chosen by another user.

g) Which languages does StepStone provide?

StepStone is international. On our site www.stepstone.com you will find more information about the whole group. If you visit the Belgian site at www.stepstone.be all information is in French, Dutch, English and German.

8. Rights Reserved by StepStone France SAS

a) StepStone France SAS does not warrant that the services offered on its web site are available at certain times. Disturbances, interruptions or a possible breakdown of the online service cannot be excluded by StepStone France SAS.
b) Systematic backups of the servers are carried out regularly. In so far as you transfer data to StepStone France SAS - regardless of type - we recommend that you store safety backup copies of your data.
c) StepStone France SAS reserves the right to change, extend, limit or withdraw its services or to delete data without notice at any time. You have no right to claim publication.

9. Other

a) You agree to use the Internet at your own risk. We have no liability for any down times on our web site caused by technical problems or access to the Internet.

b) The StepStone Privacy Statement will apply in addition to these Terms and Conditions. We reserve the right to amend these Terms of Use from time to time. The invalidity or incompleteness of any individual provision of these Terms of Use will not affect the validity of the remaining terms.
